SHH Story:
My story cannot be told without including my wife and best friend Jessica. Without her help and support, none of this would be possible. Together we have been able to take our love for food and turn it into a family business where we can share our passion and flavorful delights with others.
In 2017 I brought home a couple of plants from a local business and to our surprise we didn’t kill them. Turns out we love to watch things grow. We wanted to learn more so we enrolled in horticulture and organic farming classes at the local college. We started growing better quality produce and larger quantities with many different varieties of fruits and vegetables. We were so successful that we began to produce more than we could eat or give away and decided to try canning to preserve our harvest. We started with pickles and salsa and shared them with our family and friends.
Most everyone said that this was good enough to sell. So, we took a chance and started selling at the local farmers market and our success has led to the launch of our family business. The rest of the story is yet to be lived.
PS. The story behind SHH……
When we moved to our 2-acre property we wanted to raise our own food. We thought we’d try chickens or goats or pigs, but we weren’t prepared for that type of noisy food. That’s when we decided to become gardeners and grow quiet food. Hence the name SHH – The Quiet Food.

For the past 50 years I have been a visual and performing artist. Born and raised in Pine Mountain Georgia, I migrated to New York and had my way with the city. I had my first group art show there in Lincoln Center’s Cork Gallery at Avery Fisher hall and sold the one painting I had in the show to a German tourist. It was magical. I worked professionally as an actor, singer, dancer in film, television, and touring companies. I was fortunate enough to work with Rob Marshall, Tim Robbins, Savion Glover, Cleo King, Vanessa Redgrave, Dick Clark, Maurice Hines, Freda Payne, Doris Troy, and countless other amazing professionals.
I was a member of the West Side Art Coalition in New York City for many years. I discovered how much I loved Arizona while on a national tour of Jelly’s Last Jam at the Gammage Auditorium. I thought I would retire here one day, but after the World Trade Center disaster, my husband and I decided it was time to move to Arizona early.
I started my own business, Henwak Gallery, where I design my own creations and some of my art can be seen and purchased on my website www.HenwakGallery.com .
I created my very own hair accessory line that I refer to as hair candy. These can be purchased locally at the ‘Tis Art Center and Gallery, and online in my Etsy shop www.Etsy.com/shop/henwakgallery Check my website for detail.

Mark started doing birdhouses after her retired. His co-workers bought him a set of woodworking tools as a retirement gift and Whimsical Creations was born. Mark has always had a Whimsical flare and been very creative. He makes bird houses, and a variety of other items centered around fairy houses or whatever his mood strikes when in the shop. He puts a Whimsical or country twist to what he does and will tell you he doesn't care if a bird really goes into the houses or not. He did his research though, and the hole is regulation to small birds.
Some are distinctive to inside decorations and others withstand the AZ sun. Look for new and different items in the store.
Sherri retired in 2019 and after a 40+ year hiatus returned to her ceramic business. She has always done ceramics in her own shop, and now creates just for fun, mostly holiday and seasonal items.
We no longer have a kiln or pour our own molds, but the love of creating and making special items is alive and well. Gnomes are a hit, so look for new ones when you come in. Inventory for the most part is one of a kind. If you are looking for something special, please ask. We can do custom items.
Together we are Whimsical Creations, and we live in Dewey, AZ.

Jodi and Steven Ross are the founders of The Happy Hippie, a wellness company based in Northern Arizona, specializing in medical marijuana and cannabis products. Their journey began in 2017 when Jodi sought alternative therapies to address her chronic health issues, sparking the idea for The Happy Hippie—with Jodi as its inspiration. Steven, with a background in quality control and supply chain management in cannabis dispensaries and labs, had become concerned by the lack of high-quality products on the market. He observed many brands using low-grade materials, skipping third-party testing, and even falsifying label claims.
Determined to create a solution, Steven combined his expertise in cannabis science with a commitment to ethics, formulating his own cannabinoid elixirs and lotions. Initially developed to help Jodi, these formulations soon garnered attention from friends and family, and the couple decided to turn their personal mission into a business. Today, The Happy Hippie delivers premium, lab-tested cannabinoid products that prioritize quality and affordability. Jodi and Steven’s goal is simple: to offer targeted, high-quality wellness solutions that are safe, effective, and accessible to all.

I make trophies for your special events as well as gifts and pet items. House warming gifts are a great item to personalize for friends, family and loved ones.

Karen graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree and, later, with a Master of Science degree from California Polytechnic University. She began working with acrylic on fabric, wood, and paper along with design in the 1970’s but did not pursue her artistic passion full time until the early 2000’s. By then, she had moved to Prescott, AZ and studied under many well-known local artists, including Linne Thomas, Betty Carr, Chris Saper, Ernie Wallace, and Dana Cohn among others. Karen’s first love is watercolor because of the fluidity of the paint and the natural blending of the colors which adds dimension and interest to each piece. Adding acrylic painting and mixed media collage to her repertoire has given her a wider perspective and continues to add to her body of work, much of which is totally abstract. Because creating with color is a passion with Karen, she also began designing a line of jewelry with a European flair. She believes that when an artist continues creating, her work improves. When she sits down in her studio with a new pendant or design idea, she loves trying different components to produce a unique one-of-a-kind top quality piece. 928-830-2372

We are available for custom designs and are planning to expand to a wider variety of wood crafts.

Our names are Lauren and Anthony and just recently in 2024, we decided to pursue our dreams and founded Nature's Gems. We work together as a couple full time, creating and propagating out of our home on less than an acre. Our dreams were always to have our own farm/nursery, and start our own business so we can work for ourselves, but once the thought of combining the two together crossed our minds, we never looked back. Together, we have over 12 years of professional experience in the field of agriculture as well as have multiple botany and horticulture courses of study under our belts. Plants, farming and gardening is our passion, and we have made it our way of living now, too. As plant enthusiasts, we both love growing any and all plants from succulents to trees, fruits and veggies, to flowers and indoor tropical varieties. Currently, we have our indoor nursery fully operational and have more than two-thirds of our land prepped and ready for next season, 1 small greenhouse, and a hoop-house. We are continuously transforming our small home and land into our full-time indoor/outdoor nursery, farm, and a place where Lauren can handcraft her art and let others have the opportunity to enjoy it. We had already been making efforts to transform and prep our land over the last few years as we have been
wanting to incorporate more living off the land, and now it works perfectly with our schedule. Our plan is to have our outdoor garden fully operational by summer 2025, adding home cultivated cut flowers from our farm to our shop, local farmers markets, and craft fairs,
aspiring to branching into bigger local markets and opportunities. These flowers will be a perfect addition to the one-of-a-kind vases and pots, and will expand our business into the
cut flower market. We plan to cultivate as many varieties of flowers and plants as we can at our small farm, but will source from other smaller Nurseries in the United States to get you the exotic varieties you want to add to your plant collection!
Once our flower farm and nursery are fully operational and stable, our long-term goal, or should I say dream, is to acquire a bigger piece of agricultural property to expand our farm to include edible items, earth nourishing plants, trees, more vegetation varieties, and even farm animals to feed and nourish the surrounding communities and provide jobs for locals to be able to stay local.
We are committed to embracing the eco-friendly lifestyle and strive every day to reduce our footprint. From our water-based paints and biodegradable packaging materials to our organic soils, organic nutrients, and organic pest and disease control, we have made and
will continue to make changes to leave a smaller mark on the beautiful world we live in. As we learn and as we grow, this will always be prominent in our practice.
*We acquire and propagate many varieties of exotic and common plants and will continue to work with/on them as well as consistently produce new clones in-house for our stock, (we put hard work and love into your babies!) We do source 'mother plants' from other nurseries
or start varieties from seed. We use an organic soil mix that works wonderful for ALL varieties as a starter soil, or continuous soil. We only use organic products for pest control and fertilization on our plants. Feel free to inquire on the products we use if you're needing advice!
Lauren's Pots and Vases:
As stated previously, all pots and vases are hand painted by Lauren and are each a one-of-a-kind individuals. They are made with acrylic paint and finished with a clear gloss. Some have added trinkets for an even more unique appearance.
*All vases and pots are hand wash only, no abrasive scrubbing on outside.
*If you have any special requests for vase/pot shapes, colors, or sizes, feel free to contact us and we can talk about making arrangements (if possible)

Hello. my name is Jim Watkins. I spent most of my life in California, now live in Prescott Valley. Many years ago, I started writing inspirational messages, mainly for myself. After a friend saw them, she suggested sharing them. My first book was an Inspirational Journal. Each page is headed with an original inspirational message. They still remain popular. At a farmers market, a lady asked about address books. I started making address books. After a friend complained about password storage, notebooks, post-its, scraps of paper, etc. the password book was created. By doing all of the work, I can customize all of my books. Printing a name on the front cover, custom photo covers, special message on the inside of the front cover or hybrid address/password book. If you think of a variation, I will try to do it. I'll be happy to meet you at the Local Artisan Market and show you my full line of covers and discuss any special requests.
